In this episode of Mindful Agent, I sit down with Dr. Ron Stotts to explore what happens when ambition, achievement, and external success stop feeling like enough. Drawing from more than five decades of work in psychology, neuroscience, spirituality, leadership, and human transformation, Ron shares how learning to look within can change the way we lead, perform, and live.
What you'll learn in this episode:
Why high achievers can still feel burned out or disconnected.• How to recognize when healthy ambition becomes unhealthy attachment.• The difference between reacting and responding under pressure.• How mindfulness can improve leadership and decision-making.• Why breathing, self-awareness, and the STOP process can help you stay centered.• How to build the internal capacity to handle greater success without losing yourself.
This conversation really made me reflect on why we chase the things we chase, especially in real estate where there is always another closing, award, income goal, or level of production ahead of us. There is nothing wrong with ambition, but understanding what is driving it can change everything.
If you're successful on paper but still feel like something is missing, I hope this episode gives you a different perspective. Sometimes the next level isn't about doing more. It's about becoming more present, intentional, and connected to who you are.

How to find Happiness before Success
Jul 17, 2026
Jul 17, 2026
17 min
In this episode, I explore one of the biggest misconceptions high achievers face: the belief that happiness lives on the other side of the next goal. As real estate agents, entrepreneurs, and ambitious people, it's easy to convince ourselves that we'll finally relax, feel fulfilled, or enjoy life once we close the next deal, earn the next award, or hit the next milestone. But what if that's the trap?
💡 What you'll learn in this episode:
• Why achievement and happiness are not the same thing.
• How constantly moving the goalposts keeps you from enjoying your life.
• The mindfulness concept of "aimlessness" and what it really means.
• Why tying your identity to production creates unnecessary stress.
• Practical ways to stop postponing happiness and find peace in the present.
• How gratitude and presence can fuel sustainable success without burnout.
• Why building a successful business should never come at the cost of your well-being.
This episode is a reminder that ambition doesn't have to disappear for peace to exist. You can continue pursuing excellence while learning to appreciate where you are today. Success is worth chasing, but not if it costs you the ability to enjoy the life you're building along the way.
Whether you're navigating a challenging market, growing your business, or simply feeling like happiness always seems one goal away, I hope this conversation helps you slow down, reconnect with the present, and remember that the life you're waiting to live is already happening.

In this episode of Mindful Agent, Michael Coxen breaks down the psychological principle that explains why some real estate agents get repeat referrals for years while others get forgotten after closing.
Using Daniel Kahneman’s “Peak-End Rule,” Michael explains how clients actually remember experiences and why the emotional peak of a transaction and the ending matter more than anything else.
💡 What you’ll learn in this episode:
• Why clients don’t remember transactions the way agents think they do
• How the “Peak-End Rule” impacts referrals and repeat business
• Why the closing is not the finish line in real estate
• The difference between generic follow-up and meaningful connection
• Simple ways to create memorable client experiences that last
This episode is a reminder that real estate is ultimately a relationship business. The agents who build lasting businesses are the ones who understand how people feel, not just how deals close.

In this episode, I break down the exact blueprint I would follow if I had to start over as a real estate agent today. After years of trial and error, burnout, and figuring things out the hard way, this is a simple, proven approach built on what actually works, not theory.
💡 What you’ll learn in this episode:
The three daily activities that actually drive a real estate business
Why most agents overcomplicate systems and what to focus on instead
How consistency and follow-up separate top agents from everyone else
Why protecting your energy, health, and mindset is critical for long-term success
This is not about shortcuts, scripts, or the latest tool. It is about clarity, consistency, and building a business that actually lasts.
The reality is most agents do not fail because they lack opportunity. They fail because they lack structure and burn themselves out trying to do everything at once.
If you are a new agent or someone who has been in the business and feels stuck, this framework gives you a clear place to start.

In this episode, I sit down with Jared Smith, a betting analyst and media personality here in Las Vegas, who shares how discipline, mindset, and personal responsibility reshaped his health, career, and identity. We get into his transformation from unhealthy habits and emotional decision-making to a more intentional, grounded lifestyle built on fitness, fasting, and mental clarity.
Jared opens up about what it really takes to make lasting change, not just physically, but mentally and professionally. From losing weight and building discipline to navigating the noise of modern media, this conversation is about ownership, clarity, and staying grounded in a fast-moving world.
💡 What you’ll learn in this episode: • How Jared used fasting and fitness to build discipline and change his identity • Why most people struggle with consistency and how to break that cycle • The connection between nervous system regulation and decision making • How to stay calm and focused in high-pressure environments like media and sports • Why success can actually make discipline harder and how to stay sharp • How your environment and circle directly impact your growth and habits
Jared’s story is a reminder that real change starts with awareness and is built through daily decisions. Whether you’re working on your health, building a business, or navigating life in a city like Las Vegas, the fundamentals stay the same. Discipline, clarity, and consistency.
If you’re serious about improving your lifestyle, your mindset, or your performance, this episode gives you a practical and honest perspective on what that actually looks like.

In this episode, I break down a shift that most real estate agents overlook. It is not the market, rates, or lead flow holding you back. It is what you consistently allow yourself to think about when nobody is watching.
I share a concept from Thomas Troward, reinforced by Dr. Wayne Dyer, called the law of flotation. The idea is simple but powerful. Breakthroughs are not built by focusing on what is not working. They come from focusing on what is possible.
This applies directly to real estate. Two agents can face the same market and get completely different results based on how they think, show up, and operate.
What you’ll learn:
The law of flotation and how it applies to real estate
Why your dominant thoughts shape your results
How mindset impacts your energy, clients, and outcomes
How to shift from doubt to vision in your business
If you are a real estate agent who has been feeling stuck, discouraged, heavy, or mentally drained, this episode is for you. I wanted this one to be a reset. A reminder that your breakthrough will not come from obsessing over everything that is not working. It comes from asking better questions, holding a stronger vision, and refusing to let the contemplation of sinking define how you build.

In this episode, I sit down with Josh Lyons, a high ticket sales trainer and the founder of the Unicorn Closer Mastermind. Josh shares how he went from his very first sales conversation to earning $100,000 a month in commissions in just 17 months, and why he believes most sales training is backwards.
We get into what actually creates trust, confidence, and authority in a sales conversation, especially in real estate where the stakes are high and the emotions are real.
💡 What you’ll learn in this episode:
Why scripts and word tracks are not the real reason top closers win.
The four things every prospect must agree to before a real decision happens.
Why “detachment from outcome” is not a tactic, it is an identity.
The pre call checklist Josh uses to shift his internal state before every interaction.
How your personal life bleeds into your professional results, whether you admit it or not.
Josh’s message is simple and challenging. You do not earn more by doing more. You earn more by becoming more. If you are a real estate agent who wants stronger clients, cleaner negotiations, and more certainty in every room you walk into, this conversation will give you a different lens to work through.

It’s not the market. It’s your focus
Feb 13, 2026

In this episode, I share a truth that most agents avoid: when we struggle, it's rarely because of the market. It's because we never built the internal foundation required to handle change. We obsess over what the market was three years ago or what it might be three years from now, but we forget the only market that matters is the one right in front of us—and the agent we are inside of it.
I revisit a story from The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by Robin Sharma that stopped me in my tracks and ultimately became the catalyst for this podcast. It's about the difference between being well off and having wellbeing, and why success on the outside means nothing if you don't have success within.
💡 What you'll learn in this episode:
Why two agents in the same market can have completely different outcomes
The hard truth about what you actually control (and what you don't)
How living in the past or future keeps you from serving today's clients
Why self-mastery is the real competitive advantage in any market
The one question that shifts you from reactive to adaptable
This episode is a reminder that you don't control interest rates, inventory, or what happened in 2020. You control you. Your mindset, your preparation, your presence.
When you stop outsourcing your confidence to market conditions and start building clarity, discipline, and trust from within, you don't chase markets—you master them.

In this episode of The Mindful Agent, I sit down with Rebecca Irey, founder and CEO of Blue Skye Financial, for a conversation about money that goes far beyond numbers. This is a discussion about identity, responsibility, and the quiet decisions that shape our future.
Rebecca shares how growing up on a generational ranch, experiencing financial loss early in life, and navigating personal hardship shaped the way she approaches financial planning today. Her perspective is grounded, practical, and deeply human. Planning, she explains, is not about fear or prediction. It is about clarity, intention, and being present with the decisions in front of you.
💡 What you will learn in this update:
Why so many entrepreneurs lack true financial education
How money decisions are tied to identity and emotional safety
The difference between planning and worrying
Why avoiding decisions is still a decision
How legacy is built through intention, not accumulation
We also talk about retirement, generational wealth, and why many traditional systems do not serve modern entrepreneurs. More importantly, we explore what it means to build a life and business that supports who you are, without sacrificing your health or values along the way.
If you are a real estate agent, business owner, or someone who has felt uncertainty around money and the future, this conversation offers clarity, grounding, and a more honest way forward.
